CARLOS ALAZRAQUI is best-known to fans of Comedy Central’s hit TV show “Reno 911!” as Officer James Garcia, the self-loathing Hispanic homosexual who stole Lt. Jim Dangle’s groom-to-be in the recent season finale. But the 44-year-old Sacramento native (whose parents are Argentinian) also has an extensive resume as a cartoon voiceover artist, including work on “Fairly Odd Parents,” “Rocko’s Modern Life,” “Cat/Dog” and “Camp Lazlo.” That animated personality should be on prime display during his two-night stand at the Funny Farm. Oh, say can you sing — and remember the words? In May, NBC announced a game show for the fall dubbed “The Singing Bee” in which contestants sing along to a song until the lyrics stop, then have to fill in the blanks. But Fox three weeks ago said it was launching a suspiciously similar-sounding show hosted by Wayne Brady called “Don’t Forget the Lyrics!” on July 11. So NBC hours later said it was rushing “The Singing Bee” to air Tuesday night, a day ahead of Fox’s version. NBC didn’t even have a host until last week when former boy-band crooner Joey Fatone (“Dancing With the Stars”) was tapped. More..
