Today is iPhone day, no getting around that. There’s the crazies camped out at Apple’s SoHo and Midtown locations (whom we may go take pics of later today, why not), there’s the luddites that think it’s all nothing but tech hype … and then there’s Stephen Colbert, who’s a satirical gadget-envy ridden mess.

If you’re reading this from your soon-to-be-disposed smartphone in line at Station A on Prince St., drop us a line so we can take a picture of you to post and ridicule. And then mug you on your way out of the store. Thanks!

Who’s got plans to pony up the cash for one of these things? Waiting for second generation? Or just non-plussed altogether?

New Walkmen – “Lemon Hill” Thursday, Jun 28 2007

, “I Lost You” and “What Happened To You” for Soundcheck), a new update to the band’s site indicates it’s gonna be awhile ’til we get a new album from the BK crew. BUT the Walkmen love you, so a gift has been made of this song recorded in Paul’s basement, which “isn’t exactly in line with the other stuff we are doing now, and our record is a little ways off … It’s our first instrumental track.” So, nothing for you Ham-croon lovers, but those that like their Walkmen woozy might find this still-tipsy-the-morning-after wobbler pretty cute. Or not, but whatever … a gift’s a gift.

How’d they settle on that name?

We were gonna call it Dan Brown’s Gangsta Blues, but in the end we decided on Lemon Hill.

WWE Wrestler Chris Benoit And Family Found Dead In Atlanta Thursday, Jun 28 2007

that wrestler Chris Benoit, along with his wife Nancy, and their son Daniel were found dead today at their home in Atlanta, GA. Benoit was 40 years old.

No other details regarding the circumstances of this discovery have been released by WWE or by the Atlanta police. Just this past weekend, Benoit had been scheduled to wrestle for the vacant Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) World Championship against C.M. Punk at WWE’s Vengeance pay per view show. Benoit abruptly pulled out of the scheduled match just days prior, to attend what was called a family emergency in Atlanta. The match took place with another wrestler, Johnny Nitro, substituting for Benoit. In the match, Nitro won the ECW title. Read more
